50:5. నా తండ్రి మరణ ఘడియల్లో నేను ఆయనకు ఒక వాగ్దానం చేసాను. కనాను దేశంలోని ఒక గుహలో నేను ఆయనను సమాధి చేస్తానని నేను వాగ్దానం చేసాను. ఇది ఆయన తనకోసం సిద్ధం చేసుకొన్న గుహ. కనుక దయచేసి వెళ్లి, నా తండ్రిని సమాధి చేసుకోనివ్వండి. అప్పుడు నేను తిరిగి మీ దగ్గరకు వస్తాను” అన్నాడు యోసేపు.

50:5. నా తండ్రి నాచేత ప్రమాణము చేయించిఇదిగో నేను చనిపోవుచున్నాను, కనానులో నా నిమిత్తము సమాధి త్రవ్వించితిని గదా, అందులోనే నన్ను పాతిపెట్ట వలెనని చెప్పెను. కాబట్టి సెలవైతే నేనక్కడికి వెళ్లి నా తండ్రిని పాతిపెట్టి మరల వచ్చెదనని చెప్పుడనెను.

50:5. 'My father made me swear an oath. He said, "I am about to die. Bury me in my tomb that I dug for myself there in the land of Canaan." Now let me go and bury my father; then I will return.'"

50:5. Tell him that my father made me swear an oath. He said to me, 'Listen, I am about to die. Take my body back to the land of Canaan, and bury me in the tomb I prepared for myself.' So please allow me to go and bury my father. After his burial, I will return without delay."

50:5. My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.

50:5. 'When my father was near death, I made a promise to him. I promised that I would bury him in a cave in the land of Canaan. This is the cave that he prepared for himself. So please let me go and bury my father. Then I will come back here to you.'"
