4:9. నీవిప్పుడు అంత బిగ్గరగా ఎందుకు ఏడుస్తున్నావు? నీ రాజు వెళ్లిపోయాడా? నీ నాయకుని నీవు కోల్పోయావా? ప్రసవవేదనపడే స్త్రీలా నీవు బాధ పడుతున్నావు.

4:9. నీవెందుకు కేకలువేయు చున్నావు? నీకు రాజు లేకపోవుటచేతనే నీ ఆలోచన కర్తలు నశించిపోవుట చేతనే ప్రసూతి స్త్రీకి వచ్చిన వేదనలు నీకు వచ్చినవా?

4:9. Jerusalem, why are you now shouting so loudly? Has your king disappeared? Has your wise leader been destroyed? Is this why pain grips you as if you were a woman in labor?

4:9. But why are you now screaming in terror? Have you no king to lead you? Have your wise people all died? Pain has gripped you like a woman in childbirth.

4:9. Now why dost thou cry out aloud? Is there no king in thee, is thy counsellor perished, that pangs have taken hold of thee as of a woman in travail?
