8:16. ఈ లేవీయులు నాకు ఇవ్వబడిన ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలు. వారిని నా స్వంత ప్రజలుగా నేను స్వీకరించాను. గతంలో ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ప్రతి కుటుంబంలో ప్రతి పెద్ద కుమారుడు నాకు ప్రతిష్ఠించబడ్డాడు. అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలుల్లో ఇతరుల జ్యేష్ఠ కుమారుల బదులు లేవీయులు మనుష్యులను నేను స్వీకరించాను.

8:16. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో వారు నా వశము చేయ బడినవారు; తొలిచూలియైన ప్రతివానికిని, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయు లలో ప్రథమ సంతానమంతటికిని ప్రతిగా వారిని నేను తీసికొనియున్నాను.

8:16. For they are entirely given to me from among the Israelites. I have taken them for myself instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn sons of all the Israelites.

8:16. "Of all the people of Israel, the Levites are reserved for me. I have claimed them for myself in place of all the firstborn sons of the Israelites; I have taken the Levites as their substitutes.

8:16. For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

8:16. For they are wholly given to me from among the people of Israel. Instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the people of Israel, I have taken them for myself.

8:16. The Israelites will give me the Levites. They will belong to me. In the past I told every Israelite family to give me their firstborn son. But now I am taking the Levites in place of these firstborn sons from the other families in Israel.
