15:2. కాని ఆమె తండ్రి సమ్సోనుని లోపలికి వెళ్లనీయలేదు. ఆమె తండ్రి సమ్సోనుతో ఇలా అన్నాడు; “ఆమెను నీవు ద్వేషించినట్లు భావించాను. అందువల్లనే వివాహమునకు వచ్చిన తోడి పెండ్లి కుమారుడ్ని వివాహము చేసుకోమన్నాను. ఆమె చిన్న చెల్లెలు చాలా సౌందర్యవతి. ఆ చిన్న చెల్లెలిని తీసుకువెళ్లు”

15:2. ఆమె తండ్రి లోపలికి అతని వెళ్ల నియ్యకనిశ్చయముగా నీవు ఆమెను ద్వేషించితివనుకొని నీ స్నేహితునికి ఆమెను ఇచ్చి తిని; ఆమె చెల్లెలు ఆమెకంటె చక్కనిదికాదా? ఆమెకు ప్రతిగా ఈమె నీకుండవచ్చును చిత్తగించుమనెను.

15:2. Her father said, "I really thought you absolutely despised her, so I gave her to your best man. Her younger sister is more attractive than she is. Take her instead!"

15:2. "I truly thought you must hate her," her father explained, "so I gave her in marriage to your best man. But look, her younger sister is even more beautiful than she is. Marry her instead."

15:2. And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

15:2. And her father said, "I really thought that you utterly hated her, so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please take her instead."

15:2. And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: [is] not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

15:2. He said, "I thought you hated her, so I let her marry the best man at the wedding. Her younger sister is more beautiful. Take her younger sister."
