17. ఈ విధముగా దేవుడు తన సంకల్పము నిశ్చలమైనదని ఆ వాగ్దానమునకు వారసులైనవారికి మరి నిశ్చయముగా కనుపరచవలెనని ఉద్దేశించినవాడై,తాను అబద్ధమాడజాలని నిశ్చలమైన రెండు సంగతులనుబట్టి,

17. దేవుడు తన వాగ్దానం విషయంలో తన ఉద్దేశ్యాన్ని మార్చుకోనని వాగ్దానం పొందిన వారసులకు స్పష్టం చేయాలనుకున్నాడు. అందువల్ల ఆ వాగ్దానాన్ని తన మీద ప్రమాణం చేసి ధృఢపరిచాడు.

17. అందువల్ల వేటి విషయం దేవుడు అబద్ధం ఆడలేడో, మార్పు లేని ఆ రెండింటి ద్వారా ఆశ్రయం కోరి పరుగు తీసే మన ఎదుట ఉన్న ఆశాభావాన్ని మనం బలంగా పట్టుకోడానికి గట్టి ప్రోత్సాహం ఉండాలని అలా చేశాడు.
