12. అప్పటి నుంచి పిలాతు యేసును విడుదల చెయ్యాలని ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు గాని యూదులు కేకలు పెడుతూ, “నువ్వు ఇతన్ని విడుదల చేస్తే, సీజరుకు మిత్రుడివి కాదు. తనను తాను రాజుగా చేసుకున్నవాడు సీజరుకు విరోధంగా మాట్లాడినట్టే” అన్నారు.
